ABSTRACT

Floral visitation, specifically by ants, is recorded in Costa Rican A. upalaense Croat & R.A. Baker, and their behavior during the different phases of anthesis is briefly described. Two flies species, one Stroplocladius and one Drosophila were also observed on the spadix. Bird dispersers of A. upalaense (Manacus and Euphonia) are documented for the first time, by means of photographs.
