A new dwarf Spathiphyllum
(Araceae) from Brazil

ABSTRACT
Spathiphyllum globulispadix Bogner
& Nadruz, from Amazonas state, Brazil, is
described and illustrated as a new species. It is characterized by its dwarf
habit, up to ca. 15 cm in height, the globular spadix, unique in this genus,
leaf blades 6.5–8 cm long and 1.8 –2 cm wide, with 5–6 primary lateral veins on
each side of the midrib; the spathe is white.
