Rhaphidophora neglecta — A long-overlooked new species of Araceae-Monstereae growing in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney.

ABSTRACT

Rhaphidophora neglecta is described, illustrated, and distinguished from R. decursiva with which it has been confused. Attention is drawn in particular to its remarkable and unique (in Monsteroideae) leaflets inserted on pulvini on the rhachis, with no lamina decurrency. It is so far known only from cultivation in the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney without provenance, though it seems to have affinity with some continental Asian Rhaphidophora species.
