Luna Ibáñez & Natalia Castaño-Rubiano

ABSTRACT

The flowering phenology of Rhodospatha wendlandii is recorded for the first time in the Selva de Florencia National Natural Park, located in the department of Caldas in Colombian Central Andes. This new record expands the knowledge of the genus and provides the first report on the flowering phenology of a species of Rhodospatha, also representing the first contribution to its floral and reproductive biology. These findings highlight the need for continued research into the ecology and reproductive biology of this genus to improve the understanding about the factors influencing its conservation. Key Words: Reproductive Biology, floral visitors, Flowering Phenology, Central Andes.
